Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club

Rebecca Frecknall’s staging of the Kander and Ebb musical, which rebuilt the August Wilson Theatre as the Kit Kat Club with the audience seated around the stage. In Berlin in 1929 the Emcee presides over the nightclub while Sally Bowles and the writer Cliff Bradshaw fall in and out of love as the Nazis rise. Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin opened the production; later Emcees and Sallys included Adam Lambert, Auli’i Cravalho, Orville Peck, Eva Noblezada, Billy Porter and Marisha Wallace. It earned nine 2024 Tony Award nominations and won for Tom Scutt’s scenic design.
