Why we said yes
Horror fills cinemas with people under thirty-five and has rarely been given a Broadway house. This one arrived with a title a generation grew up on, the films’ own producers behind it (Jason Blum’s Blumhouse and Paramount Pictures), and Felix Barrett of Punchdrunk directing, a company that built its reputation on making an audience feel something in the room. The Leeds premiere and the West End run at the Ambassadors Theatre showed the show could scare a crowd eight times a week, and the 2026 Olivier Award nomination showed the critics took it seriously. We came in as a producer for Broadway.
Where it stands
Opened at the August Wilson Theatre on August 25, 2026, after a tryout at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre in July, and is booked through January 3, 2027. The London production returned to the Ambassadors Theatre in August 2026, and a UK and Ireland tour opened in September.
