A new musical based on Michael Bond’s stories and the 2014 film. A young bear from Peru arrives in London, finds a home with the Brown family, and needs their help when a villain puts him in danger. It comes to Broadway from London’s West End, where it won seven 2026 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.

Why we said yes
Paddington is one of the few characters loved on both sides of the Atlantic by children and by the adults who grew up with him, and the films gave the stories a global audience that has never had a Broadway show. The London production opened at the Savoy Theatre in November 2025, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions with StudioCanal, the films’ studio, and won seven 2026 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical and Best Director for Luke Sheppard. A family musical with a proven West End production, Tom Fletcher’s score and a producing team of that calibre is exactly the kind of show we want to bring to New York. We joined the Broadway production as a producer.
Where it stands
Broadway previews begin March 30, 2027, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, with opening night on April 18, 2027. The London production, which opened at the Savoy Theatre in November 2025, continues in the West End.
